I trust the wisdom of your body.

We enter the world fluent in the language of this body, in intimate contact with our tender and wise animal self. It speaks in sensation, breath, sound, movement, and touch… and we listen. We feel.

Until we’re told not to. Stop crying. Be quiet. Sit still. Hurry up. We learn to listen to what’s happening outside of us, suppressing what is inside. Learning who and how we ‘should’ be to belong, forgetting how to belong to ourselves, forgetting our first language - the language of the body.

But the body never forgets. It holds experiences, stories, and beliefs (even intergenerational trauma) in the tissues, in our posture, on a cellular level. We can push these parts down, “get over it,” and try to forget, but this doesn’t work long term. Eventually, the body will speak. Sometimes through anxiety, muscle tension, or panic attacks. Or perhaps through depression, a sense of disconnection from our interior aliveness, or difficulty experiencing satisfying intimacy.

My work and passion is to bring you back into your first relationship--the relationship with your body--into fluent connection with your interior wisdom and wellbeing.

When we resource the body, at the first moment it has opportunity, it begins to heal, unwind, and release. By working with the tools of story, breath, sound, movement, touch and visualization we affect the way your past experiences are held in the body by your cells, muscle, fascia, blood, nervous system, and neural pathways. We create more space, more choice, more sovereignty inside the self. And self-sovereignty changes everything. It changes how we experience and move through the world. When we create these alterations in the relationship with the self, it impacts the quality of our relating to everything we contact.

What’s true is that you are already whole. You don’t need fixing or rescuing. You don’t need punishment or pardoning. You simply need space, attention, and gentle attunement to allow your body to do what it’s expert at... unwinding, unlearning, healing itself into more aliveness. My greatest desire is to simply bring you back into connection with the wisest part of you.

A bit more personal…

I grew up on the land of the Chickasaw and Quapaw peoples, colonially known as Memphis, TN. My childhood and adolescent years were a paradox of slow-paced beauty and a pain I couldn’t name. Alternative schooling gave me a deep sense of connection with the natural world. While religious extremism and dysfunctional family patterns introduced traumas that I had no way of metabolizing at the time.

I went on to study psychology, human development, sexuality, somatics, and trauma. The practices, modalities, and tools I learned along the way didn’t answer my questions as much as they helped me ask better ones; they ultimately led me to my life’s work. I became the practitioner I wish I’d met in my 20s.

I love using a variety of modalities to support individuals, partners, and groups to find healing and deepening aliveness through embodiment, authenticity, and connection. I specialize in nervous system restoration, trauma recovery, and intimacy. I facilitate group events as well, both public and private, and offer corporate trainings that foster self-awareness, mental+emotional health, psychological safety, creativity, collaboration, and effective communication in the workplace.

When not working with clients or groups you can find me wild foraging with my two little ones, barefoot in my garden, studying Ayurveda or permaculture, traveling for new learning experiences, talking with strangers, and dancing every chance I get.
